The Backstory

I grew up in a small suburb on the south end of Spokane, Washington called “The South Hill.” It was in the days of streetlight curfews and there was no such thing as the internet. Nearly every day was spent exploring my neighborhood and the wide-open spaces of the undeveloped Moran Prairie behind my house. My Huffy bicycle and LA Gear high-tops could take me anywhere I wanted to go. It was magic. Fast forward twenty years and you’d find me under florescent lights in a windowless office doing work that didn’t inspire me. In 2010 I decided to break free from that world and start my own company—a place where work could feel more like the carefree days of my childhood on the South Hill.
